Temperament:
The Goldendoodle is considered an easy-going and friendly do. They are hypoallergenic (But note that hypoallergenic doesn’t mean they can’t trigger allergies. To be on the safer side, consult your doctor on what precautionary methods you can take to lower the chances of triggering your pet allergies. Making them a good companion and family pet. He is great around children because he is gentle and calm. However, any interaction with small children should be well supervised. This is done to avoid accidents in case playtime becomes a little boisterous. Goldendodle dogs are wary of strangers but would never show any aggressive behaviour, unless provoked. They have a fairly strong guardian instinct. These bold dogs are bred to be natural watchdogs and guard dogs because of their protective nature. Goldendodles are moderate barkers. They are quick to alert family members of intruders. Train your dog on how to distinguish a threat from a friendly individual. This will keep him from barking at anyone crossing your home.
Nutrition and Feeding:
For an adult Goldendoodle a typical serving with a dry dog food diet is one to four cups per day; however, the exact amount of food and frequency of feeding depends on his age, size, build, activity level, and metabolism. Expect a different food serving for the standard, the medium, and the miniature Goldendoodles. Here are the typical calorie needs per day of a standard adult weighing 18 – 22 kilograms
Make sure to select a dog food that is rich in protein. Protein, such as beef, fish, eggs, and poultry, helps to build and maintain the dog’s muscle, organs, bones, and immune system. Whereas good fats, such as chicken fat, lamb fat, and fats coming from sunflower oil, provide energy.
Health and Exercise:
The Goldendoodle dog breed has an average lifespan of 12–16 years. Many ailments and health conditions are hereditary, meaning they are associated with the dog’s breed.
Though Goldendoodle are a very good breed,if not well taken care of, they may suffer from illnesses like Nephroliths (kidney stones),Pulmonic Stenosis. Thus your Goldendoodle needs to feed healthy and well taken care of. Make sure they do a lot of exercises and take them on walks as they have enough strength in them
Grooming:
The Goldendoodle breed has no standard sizes, colours, coat types, and overall appearance. Amid the differences, one thing is for sure—he is adorable and cuddly. Responsible breeders and enthusiasts are aiming to breed healthy dogs that have a consistent appearance and disposition.
Most Goldendoodles have low- to non-shedding coats that are hypoallergenic. Their hair is longer on the ears, body, tail, and legs, and shorter on the head and muzzle. Goldendoodle dog’s most common colours are white, gold, cream, chocolate, coffee, apricot, red, black, sandy brown, and grey. His coat type varies, as some of them have tight and curly coats, whilst others have silky straight and flat coats. Puppies from the same litter can differ widely in colour and coat. Even though he sheds minimally, the Groodle still needs to be groomed regularly to ensure that his coat remains healthy and clean. For Goldendoodle owners opting to keep the coat in a natural state, brushing should be done at least once or twice a week. Brushing and trimming the fur on his feet is required every two weeks. Bathing the Goldendoodle can be done as needed to retain the natural oils of the coat. Make sure that his nails are trimmed, ears are cleaned, and skin free from ticks and fleas. To build strong teeth as well as avoid bad breath and gum issues, brush the Groodle’s teeth regularly and provide appropriate chew toys.
